Janice Orchard was born in Scotland and emigrated to Australia with her parents as a "ten pound migrant" when she was five years old.

    Janice Orchard paints in oils, watercolour and pastel but her passion at the moment is for oils. She prefers the Realist Impressionist style covering landscape, seascape, portraits and still life.

      A lover of 'plein aire' painting, Janice can be seen painting on location around the Bass Coast and beyond, wherever the creative spirit takes her.

      Her work is available in private galleries or  through the artist herself. Commissions are accepted.

      A veteran of the art show circuit since the age of sixteen, Janice has also taken part in 24 group shows as well as 6 successful solo exhibitions in her own region as well as in the city of Melbourne.   

She has received many awards and commendations for her work.

      Janice Orchard tutors classes in painting and drawing through the Adult Education system as well as private classes at her studio in Wonthaggi.

      In 2004 an acquisition of a Janice Orchard painting by RACV Victoria was presented to the Minister for Tourism and Special Events, the Hon. John Pandazopoulos.

      A prolific painter, Janice Orchard is represented in corporate and private collections in Japan, America, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland and Australia.
